Weli-Ankweyasimk is an Indigenous women’s transition house dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for Indigenous women, female identifying, non-binary or two spirted individuals and their children who have experienced domestic/intimate partner violence.
Trauma-informed, culturally grounded support is offered to empower clients to heal and rebuild their lives. The team operates from a holistic approach, ensuring that services are client-centered, strength-based, and are rooted in Indigenous traditions and healing practices. Weli-Ankweyasimk means to take good care of one’s self.
Offers emergency housing, 24-hour staffing, a 24-hour crisis line, supportive counselling, and guidance in accessing external programs, services, and systems.
The support team includes Women’s Support Services Workers and Trauma and Addictions Counsellor.
